Zishan Naeem
Head Orthoptist
Zish is a senior Orthoptist with over 17 years of extensive experience in visual development and amblyopia (lazy eye); visual impairment; squints (misalignment of the eyes) and complex eye movement disorders in children and young persons aged 0-18 years.
He specialises in investigating, diagnosing and managing eye movement disorders and manages the disruption of visual development in children. He is a liaison for visually impaired children and can provide detailed reports highlighting the child's visual needs. Zish strives to ensure the provision of evidence-based practice and high standards of care.
Zish is currently the Head Orthoptist and Lead Orthoptist for the London Retinoblastoma service at The Royal London Hospital (Barts NHS Health Trust). He has invaluable expertise from working in one of London’s major trauma centres, as well as from Moorfields Eye Hospital both in London and in Dubai.
Zish has successfully treated amblyopia (lazy eye) in 10s of 1000s of children as old as 16 years of age. He works closely with the Consultant Ophthalmologist to provide the vital orthoptic findings to tailor surgical procedures for the individual. This has been within the NHS (over 17 years) and private practice (over 10 years).


Rebecca McCourtney
Head Orthoptist
Becky is a highly Specialist Orthoptist with over 10 years of clinical experience, currently working at Whipps Cross Hospital and The Holly Hospital. She qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2015 with a BMedSci (Hons) in Orthoptics and has since developed specialist expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of eye movement disorders.
Her clinical focus includes double vision (diplopia), lazy eye (amblyopia), and paediatric squints (strabismus), as well as neurogenic, mechanical, and myogenic disorders of ocular motility. She provides a calm, child-led assessment using age-appropriate tests, ensuring children feel comfortable and supported throughout their appointment. In addition to her hospital-based work, she is the Stroke and Community Lead at Whipps Cross Hospital, providing specialist orthoptic input to stroke services and community-based orthoptic care, and is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across all settings.
